Join Dr. Bachmann—an internationally known physician, expert and educator on women’s health and wellness—as she discusses new guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of VVC. This presentation will highlight key updates to the VVC guidelines issued by the CDC, a subset of the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines, 2015. This report was developed in consultation with an independent group of professionals specializing in the field. About Dr. Bachmann
Gloria Bachmann, MD, is currently the interim chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, where she is also a professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Director of the Women’s Health Institute and the Associate Dean for Women’s Health, as well as a member of the Rutgers Master Educators’ Guild.
Understanding Patient Perceptions and Misperceptions About Yeast Infections (40:25)
In a survey of 1,000 women aged 16-24, two-thirds didn’t think yeast infections could ever be cured, and 81% revealed they believe sex is a primary cause. This is a presentation of patient insights and key findings that shed light on how patients perceive or misperceive VVC diagnosis and treatment. This one-hour presentation also includes Hispanic patient insights.
